Dedicated & Certified

Weilin Zhu

Director

Weilin founded Small Steps Childcare and leads the program day to day. She brings 5 years of experience working with young children and holds Washington State ECE certificate, Child Development Associate. Beyond running the home and its licensing, curriculum and staffing, Weilin is with the children every day — because knowing each family personally is the whole reason for keeping the program small.

Danyu Zhao

Lead Teacher

Danyu leads our daily program, planning the activities and routines that shape each day and working closely with our preschool children. She has 3 years of experience in early childhood education. Danyu has a particular gift for helping children through big feelings. Families know Danyu as the person who can tell them exactly how their child's day went, in detail.

Yijing Cai

Assistant Teacher

Yijing works alongside our children throughout the day, supporting meals, naps, play and the hundred small moments in between. She holds bachelor's degree and is trained in pediatric CPR and First Aid. Yijing brings the energy: she's usually the one on the floor in the middle of the game, and children gravitate to her within their first few days.
